The body of a newborn baby boy was found this morning at the Mooiplaas Landfill in Centurion.
ER24 medics were called to the scene after receiving the call from a local security company.
On arrival at 11h27, ER24 medics were led deeper into the landfill where they found the baby.
Medics assessed the baby boy and found that he had sustained a serious head injury and showed no signs of life.
Unfortunately, nothing could be done and he was declared dead.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigate.
