An invitation to the students at Wits University has been extended to rather put their grievances on the table and discuss with management and to quit burning tyres.

Complaints about the new Yale Village residence include the limited WiFi reception and inadequate cleaning facilities for the number of students.

The building is 400 meters from the campus, but students require bus transport on a regular basis.

The protesting students started the same old song again that the University will be made ungovernable if their demands are not granted.

It is remarkable that none of their demands have anything to do with what the university is all about, namely to study. Now, however, suddenly it is back to Winnie Mandela’s tyre burning culture.
