A man, believed to be in his 40s, was left seriously injured following a shooting incident on Princess Avenue in Benoni.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the local authorities already in attendance.
Upon closer inspection, paramedics found a man, believed to be in his 40s, lying in the middle of the road surrounded by members of the local authorities.
Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper leg, leaving him in a serious condition.
The man was treated for his injuries and provided with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the man was transported to Tembisa Provincial Hospital under the supervision of local authorities.
An investigation will be launched into this incident.
