From Thursday, 2 March to Tuesday 7 March 2023, Benoni Flying Squad members arrested six suspects and recovered three motor vehicles and drugs.

Members of Ekurhuleni Flying Squad collectively arrested six suspects, recovered three vehicles and drugs within a period of five days.

On Friday, 3 March at around 04:45 the members pulled over a vehicle on the R25 road close to Erwat. The driver was arrested when members found eight bags containing dagga.

In separate incidents, three others were arrested in possession of drugs at Extension 6 and 15, Ivory Park. Crystal methamphetamine, mandrax and nyaope (heroin) were recovered in these cases.

Still on Friday, at around 09:20 members were patrolling along the N12 road near Etwatwa off-ramp and pulled over a truck transporting firewood. The driver was immediately arrested when members found copper cables suspected to be stolen underneath the wood.

Another suspect was arrested in Daveyton, wanted on a Lyttelton case of common robbery.

Furthermore, three abandoned motor vehicles were recovered.

Further investigation revealed that these vehicles are positively linked to cases which were reported to SAPS Benoni, Bedfordview and Rustenburg respectively.
