Attempted house robbery took place in Archibald Street, Mulbarton when a resident was arriving home just after 20:00 and was followed into his driveway by three suspects one of whom had a handgun and shot at the resident. The resident defended himself using a licensed firearm and his son tried to reverse his car into them.
The suspects retreated and were picked up by a white Hyundai Elantra. The getaway car may have been damaged in the gunfight. In their haste to retreat they dropped a firearm – another illegal weapon out of circulation.
