Intelligence driven operation led to the arrest of 5 suspects and the recovery of two unlicensed firearms and ammunition in Doornfontein, Johannesburg, this morning, 6 June 2018.
Police received a tip off about a gang of men who were going to meet at Shell Garage and later commit robbery within the vicinity of Johannesburg.
When police arrived at the garage they noticed vehicles that matched the description given. Upon searching the car, police recovered two firearms and different number plates.
The five suspects were immediately arrested.
Investigation has started to establish if the suspects can be linked to other crimes.
