Armed robbery, housebreaking and shooting in Sunset Drive, Nooitgedacht, at about 20:00. A resident was about to leave his house and had just opened his door (curtains drawn) when a suspect stuck his hand through the curtains and pointed a firearm at him. The resident shouted at the suspect and the suspect then fired one round in his direction. Three armed suspects entered the house and tied him up.
They demanded firearms and cash. They ransacked the house.
At one stage they took the resident outside where one kept him at gunpoint while the other two broke into another cottage on the premises – thank goodness nobody was home! They ransacked the cottage too.
They left through the main gate with the resident’s remote!
He managed to free himself and alerted help.
The Iron Fist Squad was dispatched to the scene and found footprints of more than three suspects. They were at the scene for more than an hour.
These suspects are brazen, aggressive and do not hesitate to shoot. Please be on RED alert at all times and be vigilant if you leave your house at night.
