At 10:17 on Monday morning 21 October 2019, Netcare 911 responded to reports of a shooting on Director Road in Kempton Park. Reports from the scene indicate that an armed response officer was fired upon while chasing suspects in his vehicle.
It is alleged by those on scene that the officer was in pursuit of a hijacked vehicle. The vehicle was struck multiple times.
Fortunately the security officer, an adult male managed to escape the hail of bullets unscathed.
