A man was left critically injured on 24 June 2017 when he was shot during an apparent robbery at a shop in the Speruperu Local in Westonaria.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at approximately 03:30, finding local authorities already in attendance. Upon closer inspection, paramedics found the man at a residence across from his shop. The man was assessed and found to be in a critical condition, having sustained several gunshot wounds.
Treatment and advanced life support interventions were immediately initiated, in an effort to stabilise his vital signs. Once the man was stable, he was transported under advanced life support supervision to Carletonville Provincial Hospital for further care.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
