The community of Newclare, Westbury and surrounding areas, will march to the Sophiatown police station, in an anti-drug demonstration today. Schools will be closed. There is a lot of violence through the abuse of drugs, innocent people are killed. Appeals are ignored.
The planned demonstration is to voice their concerns over the drug, crime, and corruption problems, affecting the children, creating problems and an escalation in crime. Protests started last night and this resulted in a shooting.. Apparently, shots were fired around 11 p.m. last night and people want the police to arrest the drug dealers. Residents want the corrupt police arrested for their role in keeping drugs in the area.
