During the latest integrated O Kae Molao operations conducted in the West Rand District on 31 october 2019, police in partnership with vehicle tracking companies and Data Dot, recovered seven stolen vehicles, an engine and other vehicle parts at a panel beater in Chamdor.

An immediate on-site investigation confirmed that the vehicles were stolen including a C63 AMG Mercedes Benz stolen in March 2017 in Cape Town; a S65 AMG Mercedes Benz; a VW Polo both of which are yet to be linked to specific cases pending further investigation. A Toyota Hilux was stolen on Wednesday, 30 October 2019 and was tracked to this premises where police made this big recovery.

Amongst the stolen vehicles was a GWM bakkie that was stolen in Pretoria and linked to house breaking incidents in Krugersdorp and Sunnyside.

Eight employees of the panel beater were taken in for verification of status in the country, while the owner was taken in for possession of stolen vehicles.

These operations will continue with more intensity as the festive season looms.
