5 injured in plane crash east of Pretoria

At approximately 10H47 on Friday 16 February 2018, Netcare 911 responded to reports of a plane crash east of Pretoria in the Tierpoort area.

Netcare 911 paramedics were first to arrive and reports from the scene allege that the plane crashed during the landing.

Advanced Life Support paramedics attended to the five occupants: A female passenger had sustained a moderate to serious injury and analgesic medication was administered to manage her painful back injury. Once stabilized she was transported by Netcare 911, under the constant care of the paramedic, to hospital for further assessment and care.

Two males sustained relatively minor injuries and were transported by another ambulance service to hospital.
Two other males, including the alleged pilot, remained on the scene.

The SAPS and CAA were called to the scene to investigate the incident.
