On Saturday, 1 October 2022 members of Crime Intelligence and Benoni Flying Squad arrested five alleged business robbers, aged between 22 and 36 years, and recovered three unlicensed firearms in Kempton Park.
A preliminary report suggests Crime Intelligence obtained information on a possible robbery to take place in Kempton Park and immediately activated Benoni Flying Squad members on strategic positions in the area.
The suspects were driving along Monument Road towards Kempton Park CBD when their vehicle was tactically intercepted by the SAPS members.
The members conducted a search which resulted in the recovery of three unlicensed firearms.
