On 15 October 2021, the police in Temba received information about men who had just robbed a store in Majaneng and were allegedly driving a hijacked bakkie.

The members swiftly reacted to the information and started patrolling the area.

The alleged vehicle was spotted and sped off when they noticed the police. The suspects’ vehicle collided with the wall and they started shooting at the police while running away on foot.

The members retaliated and two suspects were shot and injured while the others surrendered.

The police recovered an undisclosed amount of cash and three firearms which had their serial numbers filed off.

Four men were arrested and are expected to appear in court soon on charges of business robbery, attempted murder and possession of unlicensed firearms.
