Police seized 19 firearms from criminals between Friday 14 June and the night of 15 June 2019. The firearm were seized during routine patrols and crime prevention operations “Okae Molao” in various areas of the Province.
Three of the suspects who were found in possession of firearm were arrested at a hostel in Vosloorus following a shootout with police. One of the suspects was shot in the leg and he is under police guard at the hospital. The members of the police were not injured.
Other firearms were seized at Alexandra, Booysens, Dobsonville, Johannesburg Central, Jeppe, Meadowlands, Khutsong and Rabie Ridge.
