CENTURION — Sixteen people sustained minor to moderate injuries on Wednesday morning following a collision between two minibus taxis in the Centurion Central Business District.
The mass casualty incident occurred at approximately 07:00 at the intersection of South Street and Heuwel Street. Both minibus taxis overturned as a result of the crash. The exact circumstances surrounding the collision remain unclear and are currently under investigation.
CERT-SA Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene alongside multiple other agencies. Emergency personnel assessed, treated, and transported all 16 patients to various hospitals for further medical care.
The coordinated multi-agency response on the scene included PRSS, ER24, Emergency Medical Solutions, Funcure, Ras911, the Tshwane Emergency Services Department, the Tshwane Metropolitan Police Department, First Help Towing, and Precision Towing.
