At approximately 21:14 on Friday night 23 March 2018, Netcare 911 responded to reports that several people had been shot on the M17 in Soshanguve.
Paramedics from Netcare 911 and the Provincial EMS attended to three male victims who had been shot. Reports from the scene allege that the victims stopped their vehicle to attend to a tyre puncture when they were attacked.
One man was in a critical condition and one had sustained serious injuries, they were both stabilised before being transported to hospital for the urgent care that they required. The third victim had sustained severe injuries and died at the scene.
Documentation pertaining to his death was completed by Netcare 911 and handed over to authorities at the scene. All of the victims were between twenty five and thirty years old.
The police were on the scene to investigate the incident.
