All indications are that the fuel prices may rise by almost R1,15 in October. It will push the price of fuel through the R17 barrier, which will add to higher cost prices and transport costs.
This despite Cyril Ramaphosa’s assurance that the recession is only a technical and temporary problem.
However, the higher fuel price will put the inflation rate under even further pressure, which will hamper employment and will not bring any relief to the recession.
