The Department of Energy announced that fuel prices would be adjusted upwards from 1st of February.
The price of both 95 and 93 grades of petrol will increase by 29c per liter and the price of both grades of diesel will rise by 21c per liter. The department would have increased the price by a further 12c per liter if the rand had not strengthened over the period of about 27c to the dollar.
It is expected that the price of crude oil could face a further increase in the near future due to the indirect “price-fixing agreement” that results in the agreed production curtailment of crude oil producers.
