A 46 year old man will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate court soon following an attack at a Willows Fast Food Restaurant drive thru, Bloemfontein, in the early hours of Friday 30 November 2018.

It is alleged that the female victim (29) was queuing at a drive thru when she hooted for the car in front to move forward. The driver, allegedly alighted his vehicle, went to the victim`s vehicle and assaulted her thereafter threw her car keys away.

The case was reported to the police at Parkweg and the suspect was traced throughout the weekend. The Detectives managed to get hold of the suspect on Monday the 3 December 2018 and after he was contacted, the suspect handed himself over to the police and was arrested.

He will appear at the Magistrate court soon on the charge of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. “It is unfortunate that we are experiencing this horrific attack during this time of the year when we are reminding our male counterparts through 16 Days of Activism of no violence against women and children, that any abuse of women and children won’t be tolerated.” said the Provincial Commissioner, Lt General Moeketsi.
