Two men have been arrested after a woman was accidentally shot dead while they were allegedly playing with a firearm in Ladybrand, Free State police said on Sunday.
Matshidiso Jeanette Lisenyane, 30, was found dead with a bullet wound to her right ear at about 1.30am, Captain Phumelelo Dhlamini said. The incident happened at the municipal flats in Church Street, Ladybrand.
“The deceased was at home with her boyfriend when they were later joined by a male friend and they all sat down and enjoyed each other’s company. It is alleged that the two male friends were playing with a firearm and a shot went off and hit the deceased on the right ear and she died at the scene.”
The two men, aged 47 and 35, were arrested and would appear in the Ladybrand Magistrate’s Court charged with murder and negligent use of firearm, Dhlamini said.
