The victim was walking in the street on her way to her sister’s residence on 14 December 2022 at about 09:10. Apparently the suspect ran after her until he caught her. She was forced to the residence of the suspect in Phahameng, Ventersburg.
This 37-year-old woman was raped several times while kept against her will inside the house of the suspect.
Then, on 16 December 2022 at about 11:15, the suspect raped her again but she managed to escape and he followed the victim to her residence.
He burnt her with a lit cigarette and he tried to force her to his residence but he could not succeed. The incident was reported to Ventersburg SAPS.
A case of Kidnapping and Rape was registered and a 42-year-old man was arrested on 16 December 2022 by Ventersburg Visible Policing members.
The suspect is expected to appear in Ventersburg Magistrate Court on 19 December 2022.
