Woman in a ‘hit and run’ incident outside a pub, remanded in custody

32 year old Novelake Lisbet Smith appeared before the Bloemfontein Magistrate court on 4 November 2019, on charges of culpable homicide and failure to report an accident within 24 hours.

The case is postponed to 11 November 2019, for a formal bail application, and she is remanded in custody

The suspect handed herself over at Mangaung police station on the morning of 4 November 2019, after evading arrest for about a week.

This follows an incident that happened in the early hours of Sunday 27 October 2019, where a local businessman Ndleleni Donvulo was fatally hit by a speeding vehicle outside a Pub in Pitso Street, Bochabela location, Mangaung, Bloemfontein.

Investigation still continues.
