Three people will soon be in court for their alleged involvement in the murder case where a woman was brutally murdered at a night club in Dagbreek, Welkom.
On Monday, 17 January 2022, members from Thabong Crime Prevention Unit arrested two women for their alleged involvement in the murder of a 22-year-old woman at a night club in Dagbreek. Members received information about the whereabouts of the two women who were allegedly involved in the murder and arrested them.
The victim was at her place of work on 8 January 2022 at about 23:30 when she was brutally murdered by a group of people.
The two arrested suspects were taken to Welkom Detectives where more information, leading to the arrest of the third suspect and who is believed to be the master mind behind the murder, emerged.
The two women aged 23 and 29, and a 25-year-old male will appear in the Welkom Magistrate’s Court.
“I want to congratulate the members involved in this arrest as this brings justice for a young woman who was brutally murdered. Their swift reaction and determination surely paid off as these three suspects will soon have to account for their alleged actions. Gender-based violence is a concern for the Police and we will do everything to bring perpetrators to book for these crimes,” said the Provincial Commissioner of the Police in the Free State, Lieutenant General BB Motswenyane.
