Clive Makhabane was reported missing by his family after his vehicle was found at a Traffic circle in Jan Hofmeyer Road and Tempest Road junction in Jim Fouche Park, Welkom. Police launched a manhunt for the suspects.

It is reported that on 25 February 2022, at 00:30, Clive Makhabane left an entertainment place in Welkom CBD driving home in his motor vehicle.

On the way, a suspicious vehicle attempted to intercept him but he tried to elude it by speeding off towards the direction of the Police Station of Welkom where he was involved in an accident at the traffic circle.

The vehicle came to a standstill. He was carried out of his vehicle to another vehicle while he was semi-conscious.

He found himself in an unknown room and was given food by an unknown African male speaking English with a West African resonance. According to the victim he may have been drugged and did not know what happened until he was abandoned at a taxi rank in Johannesburg.

He was not injured.
