Intolerable working conditions after he won a court case earlier, is the reason Head of Radiology of the State Health Department, Prof. Court de Vries, resigned with immediate effect. He is also head of the department of radiology in the medical faculty of the University of the Free State.
De Vries said in his resignation letter that he was constantly sabotaged making the professional performance of his duties and responsibilities difficult.
Apparently, he was the victim of a witch-hunt because he is accused of certain offenses, while no charges are formulated against him, and neither were any talks held with him in this regard.
The MEC for Health of the Free State is apparently at the forefront of actions against Prof. De Vries, and earlier this year, received a disciplinary charge against him, while two preliminary interdicts were confirmed according to which radiologists De Vries and Partners may proceed without hindrance with their private practice at Universitas Hospital in Bloemfontein.
