A case of murder has been registered following the murder of a 36-year-old man at his tuck shop in Phase 6, Mangaung, Bloemfontein.

The police attended a complaint on Monday 27 July 2020, at about 16:00, where on arrival, discovered that the man was shot inside his shop at Phase 6 by an unknown assailant. The victim was taken to hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. The motive for the attack is currently unknown.

The deceased has a pending case of conspiracy to commit murder against his previous landlord and son, where it is alleged that he hired an assassin to murder the two. His plot was halted after the police became weary of his plans and he was arrested.

He was released on bail and the case postponed for further investigation on 2 July 2020. He had another pending case of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
