
In a rapid response operation, Clocolan police, assisted by local farmers, have arrested three suspects in connection with a violent house robbery and rape on a local farm Wednesday night. A firearm stolen during the incident has been recovered.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on the night of Wednesday, 10 December 2025, at approximately 22:15. Farm workers were asleep when they were awakened by a loud bang at the door and the sound of barking dogs. One worker discovered the door had been forced open, allowing three suspects to enter the dwelling.
The intruders demanded valuables but were unsuccessful in obtaining any. During the robbery, one female farm worker had hidden inside a wardrobe. It is alleged that two of the suspects located and raped her there. The trio then fled the scene on foot.
A preliminary investigation led police to Hlohlolwane, near Clocolan, where all three suspects were arrested on Thursday, 11 December 2025. During the arrests, authorities recovered a firearm believed to have been stolen during the robbery. Investigators indicate that two of the apprehended suspects are believed to be employees on the very farm where the attack took place.
The suspects have been charged and are scheduled to appear before the Clocolan Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 15 December 2025. They face charges of house robbery, rape, and the illegal possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
