On 19 May 2020 the Bloemfontein High Court successfully passed a telling sentence to some of the members of a group known as ‘Die Haas’ in Qwaqwa who received a total of 70 years direct imprisonment. The final hearing was held at Thabo Mofutsanyana District Child Justice Secure Centre.

On the 25 May 2019, the late Mr Tsimane Malakoane was brutally murdered and his body found thrown at Sekoto river in Tseseng Village whilst his car, a red Toyota sedan was found burnt to ashes at Tsirella Village.

On the day of event, the driver was at Bolata Village driving to Tseseng when he was stopped by four accused pretending to seek a lift to the same direction. They drove with him and unfortunately stabbed him to death after robbing him of his belongings. His body was discovered by members of the community who also played a role by providing information.

The four accused, Tshabang Richard Buthelezi (18), received 10 years direct imprisonment, Lehlohonolo Stanley Modipa (18), received 20 years direct imprisonment, Itumeleng Moloi (20), received 20 years direct imprisonment and Nauwe Peter Tshabalala (27), received 20 years direct imprisonment.
