A 27-year-old suspect has been arrested and charged with dealing in drugs.
On Monday afternoon, 23 October 2023, while the Heidedal Crime Prevention unit was busy with their normal patrol duties at Karen Bothman Street, Opkoms in Bloemfontein, they spotted a suspicious exchange taking place.
The members, without any hesitation or waste of time, pounced on cynical actions and went inside the yard. Upon searching one of the shacks under the bed, the members found a transparent plastic bag containing crushed crystal meth. A further search was conducted in the same yard and more drugs were found hidden behind the house.
By the time the members left the premises, they had discovered 17 small bags of crystal meth, 96 full mandrax tablets, 1 half pill of mandrax and 2 quarters of mandrax tablets.
Combined all together, the estimated street value of the drugs is about R8500. Police also seized cash to the amount of about R4200 and black and silver Dixon digital scale.
