The police during their daily crime prevention routine stopped a suspicious vehicle with two occupants, they found stolen livestock, one suspect arrested and other still on the run.

On Saturday, 23 April 2022 at approximately 03:45, the police were patrolling the R707 when they spotted a white Toyota sedan with GP registration and stopped it.

One suspect fled into the dark and the driver was left behind.

Upon searching the vehicle they found two sheep at the back of the car and arrested the driver who is from Lindley for possession of suspected stolen stock.

The farmer whose sheep were stolen was already at the police station to report stock theft.

The suspect (57) is expected to appear before the Petrus Steyn Magistrate court on Monday, 25 April 2022 for possession of suspected stolen property.
