A security officer and a suspect have both sustained gunshot wounds after a shootout on Warden street in Harrismith, Free State.
Reports from the scene indicate that a group of suspects were robbing a store when the security officer pounced on them and there was a shootout.
The exact detail as to what happened will form part of a SAPS investigation and comment.
Netcare911 paramedics worked alongside paramedics from another emergency service on scene to stabilise the two men before transporting them to various hospitals in the area for further medical care.
