Three suspects are behind bars following an armed robbery at Setsing CBD in Phuthaditjhaba in the afternoon of 2 March 2020.

It is alleged that security guards were delivering money at a supermarket in Setsing CBD when they were accosted by armed suspects and robbed of cash. They fled on foot but were later seen being picked up by getaway vehicles.

A Crime Intelligence driven operation by Phuthaditjhaba Tactical Response Team was conducted in areas around Phuthaditjhaba and a suspicious white Renault Stepway sedan with GP registration was scene at Moteka road near Bluegumbosch with three occupants.

Preliminary investigation led police to a house in Letshalemaduke vilĺage where a white Kia Sportage that was reported stolen in Florida, Gauteng was found.

A LM rifle with two magazines plus 59 rounds, a Z88 police firearm and 29 rounds, magnum glock (11 holo pointers) and another pistol with 16 rounds were found. The three suspects were also found in possession of an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police are looking for other two suspects believed to be on the run with another vehicle and cash.
