Robbery, kidnapping and murder of Karl Reich – Trio convicted

The accused, Mojalefa Tseki (30) and Thanki Dickson Motseki (29) as well as Ernest Pule Chambisso (36) appeared before the Virginia Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 2 August 2021 where they were convicted for murder and robbery.

Their conviction originates from an incident which took place on Monday, 24 September 2018 where the deceased, Karl Reich was kidnapped from his residence in Welkom and robbed of his two vehicles.

He was found murdered the following day on Tuesday, 25 September 2018. The matter was then handed over to the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation in Bloemfontein for further investigation culminating to the conviction of the three accused.

Tseki and Motseki as well as Chambisso are yet to hear their sentencing on Thursday, 5 August 2021 and Friday, 6 August 2021.
