Residents of Kutloanong assist police in apprehending four alleged copper cable thieves

Residents of Kutloanong shared valuable information to members on duty at Kutloanong Satellite Police Station about a suspect who was on his way to sell copper cable at a supermarket in Block 1. Members of the community reportedly apprehended the suspect with copper cable and another copper cable was found at the supermarket and seized by Odendaalsrus SAPS members.

A scrap yard owner (23), a 24-year-old suspect, and two undocumented persons, aged 38 and 43, were arrested on earlier today at about 10:00. 46 Rolls of 18 core copper cable were recovered.

The four suspects will appear in Odendaalsrus Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 04 September 2023.

The Acting District Commissioner of Lejweleputswa, Brigadier Mzondi Mojafi applauded residents of Kutloanong for being the eyes and ears for the police, which led to arrests and seizure of copper cable. The District Commissioner also praise the police members for their swift action.
