The accused assaulted his friend to a pulp with a camping chair steel rod until he succumbed to his injuries on Monday 14 September 2020 at about 21:32 at a house in Struben street, Reitzpark, Welkom.

Apparently the accused was with his brother Abram Randova (25) and they had a male visitor. Later, Zacharia Randova (28) accused his friend of stealing their cellphone, an argument erupted until the suspect took out a steel rod of a camping chair and started beating his friend with it.

The neighbour heard that there was a fight and someone was crying and he decided to call Welkom SAPS and on their arrival, the door was locked and they forced to gain entry.

There was a pool of blood inside the room and the deceased was found under the bed. The two suspects were arrested and were found to have no documents to be in the country.

A case of Murder and contravention of the Immigration Act was registered for further investigation.

Detective Warrant Officer Elliot Khutsoane of Welkom Detective Services conducted a thorough investigation.

Zacharia Randova was found guilty as charged for murdering Thabang Moses Khabuse (24). Abram Randova was charged for contravening the Immigration Act. Zacharia Randova was sentenced to 13 years in jail for Murder and for being contravening the Immigration Act.
