On 4 August 2022 the eleven year old child reported the abuse to her school teacher at one of the primary schools in Meqheleng.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that she was raped several times since May 2021.
The suspect was arrested on Friday 5 August 2022 after he handed himself to the Ficksburg detectives offices.
On Monday 8 August 2022 he appeared before Ficksburg magistrate court charged with rape.
He was remanded in custody and will reappear on the 15 August 2022 for formal bail application.
