The Provincial Commissioner of Free State, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane welcomed the sentencing of Thabiso Mzoboshe to life imprisonment.
Thabiso Mzoboshe (40) was sentenced to a life term imprisonment by the Koffiefontein Regional Court last week for the rape of a 5-year-old girl in November 2017 at Chakaville, Petrusburg.
The victim shared her ordeal with her mother. The victim was on her way home from a nearby tuckshop when the accused lured her to his house where he raped her. The mother informed the Police and the accused was traced and arrested on the same day of the incident.
Further investigation confirmed rape through DNA and the accused subsequently confessed to the commission of the crime. He was denied bail until his sentencing.
