The Provincial Organised Crime Unit in Bloemfontein seek public assistance in tracing three men who can assist police in an investigation of petrol filling station robberies in Mangaung.

In the month of October 2022, the City of Bloemfontein experienced petrol filling station robbery incidents in which the same modus-operandi was used. Three unknown males walked into the convenience store, with one carrying a bag, pretending to be customers. When they see that all other customers have exited the store, they make their way to the cashier, open the bag containing what looks like a firearm and allegedly instruct the cashier to empty the cash registers and put money in a bag.

A total of eight filling station convenience stores were robbed by the trio and no one has been arrested as yet. The cases were handed over to the Free State Provincial Organised Crime Unit for further investigation. The unit is pleading with anyone who knows the identity and/or whereabouts of the men as depicted in the photos attached, as captured on CCTV footage, to contact the investigators, as they can shed light and assist in the investigation.

Anyone with information is requested to contact Detective Sergeant Themba Galawe of the Free State Provincial Organised Crime Unit on 063 447 8579, 051 638 6222 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or alternatively, they can leave an anonymous tip on the MySAPS App.
