The Free State Search and rescue K9 Unit together with Bohlokong police are continuing with search efforts to locate a young man from Bohlokong who was reportedly kidnapped during an apparent mob justice related incident on Monday, 20 November 2023 by a group of eight people who have accused him of theft of their property at certain house in the area.
It’s alleged that the young man was seen by his mother on 20 November 2023 at about 14:00, who was also confronted by two women and six men alleging that her son stole their property. The young man disappeared and through further police investigation information from the community suggested that he was seen inside the Liebenbergsvlei River in a tree. The Search and Rescue team were called and conducted their first search without success.
The second phase of search still continues today at the same river. A case of kidnapping is being investigated.
