A 53-year-old Warrant Officer working as a court orderly at the Phuthaditjhaba Magistrate Court has been arrested for alleged corruption.
Serious Corruption Investigation members followed up on information from complainants alleging that the police officer, was consistently demanding gratification in order to squash fines which included amongst others, drinking in public and gambling.
A sting operation was executed on Friday 6 November 2020, and the suspect was arrested after money exchanged hands
The suspect is expected to appear at the Phuthaditjhaba Magistrates Court on Monday 9 November 2020.
