Police need assistance after the murder of a young man in Phuthaditjhaba

Police in Phuthaditjhaba seek public assistance for information that can assist in solving a murder case after the body of a 22-year-old man from Bolata Village in Qwaqwa was found lying in the Riverside Township with multiple wounds.

It’s alleged that on 01 September 2023 at about 07:30, the police were summoned to the crime scene at Riverside township of Phuthaditjhaba, where they found the body of a young man lying in a cement ditch. He was wearing a red jersey and blue trouser jeans with black takkies. A blood-stained rock was found next to him and upon further inspection, multiple open stab wounds on his neck and head were noticed.

The 22-year-old victim has been identified by his mother from Bolata Village. The motive behind the killing is still unknown at this stage. A case of murder is being investigated.
