On 18 August 2021, an intelligence driven operation led to the arrest of three suspects by Fezile Dabi Trio Task Team on two separate incidents.

In the first incident a 49-year-old man was arrested in Holomisa informal settlement, Zamdela for his alleged involvement in a house and business robbery incidents in Petrus Steyn.

He had invaded arrest when his four accomplices were arrested on 8 August 2021 in Sasolburg for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

All five suspects aged between 20 and 49 will appear at Petrus Steyn Magistrates’ Court today on charges of possession of unlicensed firearm, house and business robbery.

In another incident, two suspects aged 24 and 28 were arrested after they allegedly robbed a man of R40, then fled the scene. One of the suspects was arrested in Snake Park, Zamdela, and found in possession of an unlicensed firearm. The second one was arrested in Taylor Park, Zamdela, where he was found with 23 small zip lock bags containing Crystal Meth with an estimated street value of R1 150,00.

Both suspects will appear at Zamdela Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 24 August 2021 charged for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition and possession of drugs.
