One suspect arrested for being in possession of liquor suspected to have been stolen at a depot and one suspect arrested.

On Monday 01 January 2024 at 16:30 members of Bloemfontein Flying Squad were on patrol in OR Tambo Street, Hamilton when they noticed a suspicious silver Hyundai vehicle near the side wall of a brewery company.

There was one African male at the car and two (2) others came running towards the vehicle, quickly loaded something into the boot and the vehicle sped off. Members gave chase and the driver was arrested while others fled and are still at large.

The vehicle was searched and liquor to the estimated value of R6000-00 was found inside. The 25-year-old driver could not give an explanation of his possession, nor could he produce any proof of purchase. The driver was arrested for possession of suspected stolen property.

The 25-year-old suspect is yet to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrates’ Court soon. The vehicle a Hyundai Atios was also seized.
