The Task Team, Welkom Serious Crime and mine security were following up information on one of the suspects of a gas station robbery and where a police officer was shot.
The house in Thabong was identified and approached on the 6 December 2022 at about 22:05.
It is alleged that the suspect started to shoot in the direction of the police officer who sustained a bullet wound to his stomach and was taken to the hospital where he was certified dead on arrival.
The police are hot on heels of the suspect who fled the scene with a white Polo Volkswagen.
The house was searched and seven hand radios, with three chargers and a black balaclava were found and seized.
Additional charge of Murder has been registered.
More boots were added on the ground to search for the suspect.
