On 6 January 2018 at about 13:00, private divers who were visiting Sterkfontein resort, discovered a Toyota Tazz that had submerged in the dam and alerted the police.
A private towing company pulled the vehicle out of the dam.
Inside the vehicle, three bodies that were confirmed to be of the 35 year old mother and her three sons, aged 13, 8 and 5 were found.
They were positively identified as a family from Lusaka section in Makwane Village.
The deceased were last seen in the resort on the 5 January 2018 at about 21:00.
An inquest docket has been registered for further investigation.
