30 year old Godfrey Qhoase Moletsane of Marquard was found guilty of murder of his girlfriend Refilwe Masakala and sentenced to 23 years imprisonment. He was also found guilty of attempted murder of 55 year old Puseletso Masakala, the mother of his girlfriend.
This follows an incident on the 3 January 2018, at about 04:00, when Moletsane arrived at the home of the deceased, took out a knife and stabbed her several times whilst she was asleep. She sustained 20 stab wounds and died at the scene. This after he suspected her of having an affair.
Then he went on to stab the deceased mother in the upper body and thighs and was admitted at the local hospital.
The Police were alerted and devised all means possible to trace the suspect who was ultimately found on the N1 road near Virginia and arrested.
