The police have arrested a 52-year-old woman from Bohlokong Extension 2 near Bethlehem for the alleged murder of her boyfriend.
It is alleged that on 29 December 2021 at about 12:02, Bohlokong police received a complaint of alleged murder at Extension 2 Bohlokong. They were taken to one of the rooms inside the house where the body was found lying on bed covered with a blanket.
It is further alleged that the deceased, identified as Lenka Semasa (46), was assaulted on Sunday, 26 December 2021 at about 23:00 by his girlfriend.
The incident wasn’t brought before police nor was an ambulance summoned for medical treatment.
It was only after two days, Tuesday 28 December 2021, that the deceased went to Phekolong District Hospital for treatment as his face is swollen.
He was treated and discharged. On Wednesday, 29 December 2021 at about 10:30 he was found dead on his bed.
A post-mortem will be conducted to establish the cause of death hence the case of murder is under investigation.
The motive behind the murder is not yet known.
The 52-year-old suspect will be expected to appear before the Bethlehem Magistrate court on Friday, 31 December 2021 facing charge of murder.
