
Police have arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with the murder of a 22-year-old man who was found with a fatal stab wound to the chest.
Authorities were summoned to a stabbing incident at Phahameng location on Friday, 27 March 2026. Upon arrival at the W50 informal settlement, officers discovered the 22-year-old victim seated on the ground, unresponsive and covered in blood. Emergency services personnel declared him dead at the scene.
According to witness accounts, the two individuals were inside the victim’s shack when family members heard the suspect request something from the victim. Moments later, a scream was heard from the shack. When witnesses investigated, they allegedly found the victim lying on a bed bleeding from the chest. The suspect fled the scene after being questioned about the incident.
Police traced and arrested the suspect.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Bultfontein Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 30 March 2026, on a charge of murder.
