The Makwane police together with Phuthaditjhaba Regional court successfully closed the matter of the late Lefefa Mofokeng of Makwane Village who was stabbed to death for no apparent reason in the street by the accused person, Lefa Gift Ndlovu (20).

During 8 May 2021 the victim was walking in the street at Kgotsong-Lusaka village when he was stabbed with a knife once and died instantly on the scene by the accused without a warning or word.

He was arrested and found guilty of murder on 24 January 2022 where he was sentenced to effective 15 years direct imprisonment.

“I want to applaud the work done by our Detectives even during the pandemic they are always willing to serve their communities. Finally the matter has been laid to rest and unfortunately another family lost their loved one. The carrying of dangerous weapons always has negative results in one way or the other. We won’t stop continuing with our stop and search removing dangerous weapons in the streets”, said the Free State Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General BB Motswenyane.
